Renovations & Additions

Our renovations and extensions design process comprises three key stages and relies on strong client consultation throughout.

We’ve created this process to allow us to bring your creative ideas to life and design a renovation or extension that complements your existing home and enhances your lifestyle.

On Site Consultation

Our initial consultation is an opportunity for our Principal, to meet with you on site and discuss your ideas, budget and any specific requirements. We will provide practical advice and suggestions regarding the practicality and viability of your proposed project, taking into account any relevant building code requirements. He will also confirm the fees for our services.

Please bring the original building plans and sewerage details to this meeting if you have copies of these documents. Your local council is able to provide this information, or we can source this information for you if required

Preliminary Design

Following your on site consultation, our design team will begin to draft preliminary design drawings.
As we create potential design solutions for your renovation or extension, we will consider all aspects of design including site orientation, sun position, local prevailing breezes, functionality, aesthetics and energy efficiency – and, of course, your budget.

We work closely with you throughout this stage to make revisions and refinements to your design to ensure that it meets your needs.

Working Drawings

Once you are completely satisfied with your design, we prepare detailed working drawings and documentation for the development application (building approval).

These final documents will include some or all of the following:

  • floor plans
  • elevations
  • sections
  • site plans
  • bracing layout
  • floor framing plans
  • detail drawings
  • energy assessment
  • 3D images
  • floor finishes

Your local council may ask that you provide additional documentation from other external consultants. We are happy to coordinate this on your behalf if required.

Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to discuss your project.
